Horizon Shipbrokers Limited was established in January 1991 primarily to serve the broking needs of the local community in all facets of broking. Consequently we act as brokers for both chartering and sale & purchase.

New Zealand has only a small ship owning community and therefore sale and purchase negotiations tend to be few and far between but we have successfully concluded sales in a range of vessels from handysize tankers to ROROs and cement carriers.

On the chartering side of the business we act for local fertiliser, forestry and liner principals for such tonnage as multi-purpose container vessels and handysize bulkers. In addition to this we arrange parcel cargoes (1,000-10,000mt) as diverse as pulp through to bagged onions! Project cargoes also fit into this parcel business primarily in the form of yachts (we re-positioned the French America's Cup team back to Europe), engineering project equipment, power transformers some of which are also heavy lifts.
